Troop 36002, all aboard the Cookie Bus!

To kick off National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend in the Erie area, Cadette Troop 36002 from North East will be selling cookies on this year's Cookie Bus on Friday, February 23.

The girls are excited for this opportunity to help them reach their cookie goals. The troop is hoping to sell 1,000 boxes during booth sales to help them power an upcoming outdoor excursion. The Cadettes are planning a camping trip to Ohiopyle, PA to hike, sleep in tents and go white water rafting.

"Most of the girls have never been tent camping, and they all have white water rafting on their Girl Scout bucket list," said troop leader Emile Carver.

Additionally, the girls are planning on teaming up with a local organization to help provide Christmas presents to high-school and middle-school aged children in their community who may not otherwise receive gifts due to financial harship.

The Cookie Bus, now in it's fourth year, is a result of a wonderful partnership between Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority (EMTA) and Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania (GSWPA). The bus will be stopping at locations to sell cookies and take donations to send cookies to the U.S. military though Operation: Sweet Appreciation.
