S'more ways to make a s'more

In honor of National S'mores Day this year, GSWPA held a S'more Recipe Challenge. We wanted to highlight all of our participants because all of these sound so delicious! Enjoy these amazing recipes from some of GSWPA's s'more experts.


Minty Smores
Just 2 graham crackers, a perfectly cooked marshmallow, and 1 or 2 Andes candies. Just a hint of mint!

Chocolate Chip Sea’more
Chips ahoy thins
Marshmallows
Chocolate
Seaweed

Toast marshmallow, put chocolate and seaweed on a cookie. Put your marshmallow on top and finish off with another cookie.

About this recipe: Submitted by Lillian M. "I got seaweed in my try treats box and it’s the strangest ingredient I could think of. I use chips ahoy thins to make microwave s’mores all the time."


Sunshine S'mores
Cut fresh pineapple into rings.
Place pineapple on grill over medium heat and sprinkle graham cracker crumbs with a smidge if cinnamon over them.
Place chocolate squares on pineapple and grill for 4-5 minutes.
Toast marshmallows while waiting.
Remove pineapple from grill, take toasted marshmallow and place in top.
Take other pineapple slice and put on top.
Cut the sunshine in half because it’s very messy and eat. The little sunshine s’mores are delightful!

Tropical Delight S'Mores
Ingredients:
Marshmallows
Fresh or canned pineapple chunks, well drained
Fresh or maraschino cherries, drained
Samoa Girl Scout Cookies or Keebler Coconut Dreams cookies

Directions:
1. Put one chunk of pineapple then one marshmallow onto a skewer and toast to your preference.
2. Drop your toasted marshmallow and pineapple onto the flat chocolate side of one cookie.
3. Top with another cookie, chocolate side down against the marshmallow.
4. Place one cherry in the center hole on top of the cookie.
5. Enjoy your Tropical Delight S'More!

About this recipe: Submitted by Alexis F. "I was inspired to make Tropical Delight S'Mores while eating my favorite Girl Scout cookie, Samoas. Coconut makes me think of a tropical island so I started thinking about other tropical fruits. I love pineapple too so I got the idea to roast a piece with my marshmallow and add it to my s'more...it was a tropical delight!"


Marshmallow Peanut Butter Cup
Ingredients:
Graham crackers
Peanut butter
Chocolate bar
Marshmallows

Directions:
First, break a Graham cracker in half.
Spread 1 teaspoon of peanut butter on one half of a Graham cracker
Add half of chocolate bar
Toast marshmallow put on top of the chocolate
Top with other half of Graham cracker

Pancake S'mores
Pancakes (2)
Marshmallow
Hershey’s bar

Cook two small circle pancakes. Put one pancake on a plate. Microwave the marshmallow for 10 seconds. Add a marshmallow to the pancake. Add chocolate and the top pancake. Enjoy!

S'mores Bars
1/2 stick of butter
1/2 bag of marshmallows
12-oz. bag of chocolate chips
1 package of graham crackers
Favorite chocolate candy (Snickers, Kit Kat, etc.)

Melt butter in a pan. Add marshmallows and stir until melted. Then add chocolate chips and mix until smooth. Break graham crackers into small pieces, then add half of them into the mixture and stir until completely combined. Line a square pan with wax paper. Pour the mixture into the pan and smooth out. Top with remaining graham crackers and pieces of your favorite chocolate candies. Let set until cool, and cut into bars.

S'mores Surprise
Sugar cookie (2)
Melted chocolate
White fondant

Put a sugar cookie on a plate. Melt chocolate. Drizzle melted chocolate on the cookie. Let chocolate harden. Using fondant, make a marshmallow shape, and add to the cookie. Finally, put the other sugar cookie on top. Enjoy!

S'mores Mini Pies
Ingredients:
1 Mini Graham Cracker Pie Crust
Mini Marshmallows (How ever much you want)
Chocolate Bar (How ever many you want)

Steps:
1. Put broken up pieces of the chocolate bar into the pie crust.
2. Put marshmallows on top of the chocolate.
3. Bake in the oven on 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes.

About this recipe: Submitted by Ava L. "A friend told me about it, so I decided to make it during the quarantine because we couldn't go camping and make regular s'mores. It is really good, and my favorite part is eating it."


Breakfast S'mores
Mini Eggo waffles
Marshmallows
Chocolate

Toast the waffles in a toaster while roasting a marshmallow over the stove (have a parent help). Sandwich the marshmallow with chocolate between two waffles.

S'mores Krispie Treats
Ingredients:
8 cups Golden Grahams Cereal
1 bag (10 ounces) mini marshmallows
1 cup mini marshmallows
1.5 cups chocolate chips
5 tablespoons butter

Directions:
1. Spray 9x13 inch pan with PAM
2. Melt butter over medium heat, when butter is melted, add bag of marshmallows
3. Stir marshmallows constantly until melted
4. Remove from heat
5. Add cereal and stir until it's all covered
6. Add chocolate chips and 1 cup marshmallows and stir quickly
7. Pour mix into pan and press firmly into the corners
8. Let cool for at least an hour, and cut into bars and ENJOY!!"

Strawberry S’mores Pie
Dip strawberries in chocolate (any kind)
Spread marshmallow fluff in a graham cracker pie crust
Place in warm oven (250°) for 5 minutes
Take out, cool, and lightly cover marshmallow with chocolate syrup
Place a good layer sliced strawberries on top of the chocolate
Spread whip cream on top of strawberries
Drizzle chocolate syrup in a pattern over whipped cream
Place chocolate covered strawberries around the edge
Chill and serve

Salted Caramel Brownie S'Mores

Ingredients:
Marshmallows
Hershey's Caramel Flavored Syrup
Sea Salt
Maraschino Cherries (well drained)
Homemade or store bought brownies cut into 2x2 inch squares

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 500 degrees.
2. Place marshmallows on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 2-5 minutes. Remove marshmallows from oven when they puff up, about double in size, and start turning golden brown.
3. Drop one marshmallow onto each brownie.
4. Drizzle caramel syrup over the marshmallow.
5. Lightly sprinkle sea salt over the caramel.
6. Place one cherry on top of the marshmallow.
7. Enjoy your Salted Caramel Brownie S'More!

About this recipe: Submitted by Alexis F. "I was inspired to make Salted Caramel Brownie S'Mores while making brownies. I wanted to melt marshmallows on top for icing. I got the idea to make brownie s'mores! They were bland so I thought of sundae toppings and decided to add caramel syrup, sea salt, and a cherry on top!"


S'more Tacos
Flour tortillas
Butter
Graham cracker crumbs
Marshmallows
Chocolate

Cut circles out of the tortillas. Dip them in melted butter and then in graham cracker crumbs to coat them. Put them in between the cups of a muffin pan, on the bottom. Bake them at 400degrees 8-9minutes. When they are almost done toast marshmallows. Put your chocolate pieces and toasted marshmallow in your “taco” shell and enjoy.

You could dip them in cinnamon and sugar instead of the cracker crumbs.

S'more Popcorn
Ingredients:
5 Cups of Popped Popcorn
3 tbsp. Butter
1 Cup Mini Marshmallows
1 Cup of Graham Crackers (Broken up into pieces)
1 1/2 Cups of Chocolate Chips

Steps:
1. Take your popped popcorn and mix in the graham crackers, 1 cup of chocolate chips, and a 1/2 cup of marshmallows. You can use a rubber spatula and fold everything in a large bowl.
2. Melt your butter in a pan and cook into the butter turns golden brown. Then, add 1/2 cup of marshmallows. Stir until your marshmallows are melted.
3. Lay your popcorn mix onto a cookie sheet. Drizzle the melted marshmallow onto the popcorn mix.
4. Microwave 1/2 cup of chocolate chips until melted. Drizzle the melted chocolate chips onto the popcorn mix.
5. Let harden and serve.

Cookie S'mores
Marshmallows
Fudge stripe cookies

Roast your marshmallow normally, but instead of using graham crackers or chocolate bars, you use a fudge stripe cookie to replace those ingredients. Makes a different and yummy s'more.

Reese's S'more
Two graham crackers
A Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup
A Hershey’s chocolate bar
A toasted marshmallow

Toast your marshmallow. Put the Reese’s on the graham cracker. When you are done roasting the marshmallow, put it on top of the Reese’s. Put the chocolate bar on top of that. Finally, add another graham cracker on top. Eat and enjoy!

S'mores At Home
Use traditional s’mores ingredients, graham crackers, a chocolate bar, and marshmallows.

Place graham cracker, chocolate square, and a marshmallow on a plate and put in the microwave. Turn on microwave but stand close by and watch as the marshmallow grows to about double in size. Immediately turn the microwave off. Top with second graham cracker and enjoy.

The recipe above is for one s'more, but you can fill a plate and make multiple."

Pocket Full of Sunshine
First, you spray your mountain pie maker with non-stick spray.
Second, you put the tortilla on one side (with edges hanging out)
Next, you fill it with marshmallows (the small ones work better), chocolate (could use Hershey's or kisses), and crumbled graham cracker.
*you can always add m&ms, strawberry or chocolate syrup, sprinkles, or anything else you can think of!
Then you fold the tortilla over your s'mores ingredients and close the maker.
Lastly, cook it until it golden brown and enjoy!

It was raining so we had to go inside and we made the stove work as the fire. I really wanted s'mores so we made a s'mores mountain pie with a tortilla softshell.


Mae’s S’mores Milkshake
Step 1: Crush 4 graham crackers
Step 2: Pour in 1 cup of milk
Step 3: Put in chocolate ice cream (about 2-3 cups) and 1/2 cup of ice
Step 4: Squeeze in Hershey’s chocolate syrup
Step 5: Put in 3 marshmallows
Step 6: Put in 1/2 cup of crushed graham crackers
Step 7: Blend it!
Step 8: Place 2 marshmallows on a marshmallow stick
Step 9: Get our two cups and put Hershey’s syrup on the sides, graham cracker crumbs at the bottom and a small squirt of whipped cream
Step 10: Pour the milkshake mix in your cup
Step 11: Roast the marshmallows
Step 12: squeeze whipped cream on top of the shake
Step 13: Put 3 Hershey chocolate squares into the whipped cream
Step 14: put your marshmallow on the whipped cream by the chocolate squares
Step 15: Enjoy your milkshake! Drink it 'til the last bit is gone!!

S'more Nachos
2 sleeves of Graham crackers broken up
30 marshmallows
3 cups of semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350. Layer Graham crackers in a oven safe skillet or a pan. Add half the marshmallows and 2 cups of chocolate chips. Put the remaining marshmallows on top. Put in oven until marshmallows turn a nice golden brown. About 8-10 minutes. While that's in the oven melt the remaining chocolate chips over low heat and than drizzle on top the golden brown marshmallows. Serve immediately! Enjoy!

Banana Split S'Mores

Ingredients:
Nilla Wafers
Marshmallows
Strawberries, sliced
Bananas, sliced
Hershey's Milk Chocolate Bar

Directions:
1. Toast one marshmallow to your preference.
2. Place 1 slice of strawberry on the flat side of one Nilla Wafer.
3. Drop your toasted marshmallow onto the strawberry.
4. Add one square of chocolate on top of the marshmallow.
5. Place 1 slice of banana on top of the chocolate.
6. Top with one Nilla Wafer (flat side down).
7. Enjoy your Banana Split S'More!

I decided to try using the Nilla Wafers instead. I had leftover strawberries and wanted to see how one would taste on a s'more...it was really good! I then thought if I add banana, it would taste like a banana split, and it did!"

PB & M Banana Sandwich
Ingredients:
Graham crackers
Peanut Butter
Banana Slices
Marshmallows

Directions:
Break one Graham cracker in half
Spread 1 teaspoon of peanut butter on half a Graham cracker
Place 2 to 3 banana slices on peanut butter
Add a toasted marshmallow
Top with the other half of a Graham cracker
