New Girl Scout Elected to Participate on Board of Directors
Girl Scouts is a girl-centered organization, from troop meetings to board meetings. As a member of the panel, Boburchock will attend the GSWPA Board of Directors meetings to provide an important girl perspective during discussions. She will be a part of decision making for the GSWPA council, which is made up of nearly 21,000 girl members, 11,000 adult members, close to 100 full-time staff spread across 27 counties of western Pennsylvania.
This is not Boburchock’s first time representing her Girl Scout council. In October 2017, she was asked to serve as a national delegate for GSWPA at the National Girl Scout Convention in Columbus, which occurs every three years. Boburchock participated in the National Board of Directors election other votes that would shape the next three years of the Girl Scout Movement across the country. Boburchock has also served as a local GSWPA delegate for the last two years representing Somerset area.
Boburchock has recently begun working on her Girl Scout Gold Award, which is the highest award achievement in Girl Scouting. She has been a dedicated Girl Scout for 11 years. Boburchock is also a program aide at her local Girl Scout day camp and is a member of GSWPA’s Camp Conshatawba’s Outdoor Club.
Boburchock is in tenth grade at Somerset Area High School and lives in Friedens, and in addition to Girl Scouting, Boburchock is active in her community and school.
