Congratulations to Christina Cassotis, recipient of the 2017 Women of Distinction Award in Government and Law!
Christina Cassotis is the chief executive officer of the Allegheny County Airport Authority, an agency that oversees Pittsburgh International Airport and Allegheny County Airport.
At Pittsburgh International, she oversees a growing airport with over 8 million passengers annually and is successfully leading its transition from a mega connecting hub to a top O&D facility. Under her leadership, Air Transport World magazine named Pittsburgh International as its 2017 Airport of the Year, the first U.S. airport to garner the honor.
Prior to joining the Airport Authority in January 2015, Ms. Cassotis spent 15 years at SH&E, a global commercial aviation consulting firm. She served as managing officer for airport services, leading a team of airport consultants in areas of competitiveness and business strategy for clients worldwide.
Ms. Cassotis began her career in commercial aviation working for the Massachusetts Port Authority, which operates Boston Logan International Airport, where she served as deputy director of communications.
Ms. Cassotis holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts.
She is married, has one son, and resides in the Sewickley area.

Congratulations to Karen Hall, recipient of the 2017 Women of Distinction Award in Athletics!
Karen Hall, a native of Pittsburgh, spent more than 20 years coaching women’s and men’s college basketball at several NCAA Division I institutions, and more than 10 years working championship operations for the NCAA conference and NCAA championships. She also spent eight years as a teacher working in Catholic schools within the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
Today, she works as an ESPN women’s college basketball color analyst. She produces and hosts “The Hall Pass” at Point Park University, and is co-host of the Neil Haley Show. She also serves as associate executive director/communications director for Ozanam Program, Inc., and is a public speaker on topics ranging from networking to embracing change. She also works men’s and women’s basketball conferences and NCAA championships, and owns High Performance Hoops. In addition, she is a physical education consultant with local area schools.
Karen is one of 11 appointed commissioners serving a four-year term on the City of Pittsburgh Equal Opportunity Review Commission (EORC). Her professional memberships include the National Association of Women Athletic Administrators, Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, Pittsburgh Black Media Federation, National Association of Professional Women, and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas while playing college basketball, a master's degree in organizational leadership from Geneva College, and is presently pursuing a doctorate degree in leadership, administration, and education at Point Park University.
